Hi y'all! This is technically my 14th "In a Pinch" post, but I wanted to give you some life updates.
It's officially May, which is usually one of my favorite months. It's full of happy hours, the ending of the school year, and the beginning of spring weather in Chicago. However, this year is different in that I have to start studying for the Bar Exam. I'm not necessarily looking forward to it, but I want to get it over with, and pass, mainly so I never have to take it again [and I don't become unemployed!]. I've decided to take this time off of APS so I could devote all my time to studying. Don't fret, I'll be back in August!
May has already been busy. With final exams, school ending, graduation, my family being in town, multiple Cubs games and happy hours... I feel like I haven't had time to myself or time to breathe. My family leaves Chicago tonight so luckily I'll have the rest of this week to relax, have some alone time, and prepare for studying.
I've written about some of my struggles in law school here, but I am absolutely thrilled that school is over. It feels surreal that chapter of my life is complete, and I am so excited for what's to come in the future. I'm saying bye to all the stressful, less-than-great memories of law school and saying hello to all the exciting things in the future!
Recently, I've been in a funk and have fallen off my workout routine. I'm determined to jump back on the wagon this week! I need to start really training for my half marathon in September so that's what I'll be doing this summer in addition to studying.
I've also decided that I'm going to try to complete one [if not two!] rounds of Whole30 this summer. I really want to get back into the routine of eating healthy since I failed miserably at it while I was in school.
ONE // First Cubs game of the season...
TWO // ... and the second!
THREE // I have been loving this combination lately: gluten free cinnamon raisin bread, avocado, and Trader Joe's EBB seasoning. Try it. You won't regret it!
FOUR // Kicked off Cinco de Mayo with a casual brunch!
FIVE // Finished Cinco de Mayo by dancing the night away with my BBB.
SIX // Meg and I took our first final exam and rewarded ourselves with wine and drinks outside by the river.
SEVEN // Long walks paired with Floriole make for the perfect morning.
EIGHT // It's all GOOD in the HOOD!
NINE // Not only the cutest pet in Dallas, but the cutest pet in the WORLD! You can vote for G for cutest pet of Dallas here!
TEN // HMD, Mar!
ELEVEN // I've ((bean)) meaning to tell you how much I love you.
TWELVE // Casual Mondays at home with Veuve, Desperate Housewives, and my new college t-shirt quilt.
Do you have any fun plans or trips planned for this summer?! Let me know in the comments!
